Andrea M. Braverman, PhD is Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Braverman is also the Director of Psychological and Complementary Services at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey and has a private practice in Philadelphia.

She matriculated both Masters and Doctorate degrees in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania in addition to a Masters in English literature, and completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a licensed psychologist practicing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Dr. Braverman is widely published in the peer-reviewed literature in infertility, and has presented papers, monographs, and lectures on infertility and reproductive medicine with a focus on psychological issues and counseling strategies. She serves on the editorial board of Archives of Women’s Mental Health. She reviews manuscripts for Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction. Dr Braverman also has contributed book chapters, reviews and editorials.

Dr. Braverman’s presentations have received national and international acclaim at scientific meetings. She has served as a lecturer at the Wharton School MBA Program, University of Pennsylvania and as chair for postgraduate courses at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in Montreal. Dr. Braverman has been an invited lecturer at ART meetings and conferences in the US, Australia, Canada, and Europe.

She is currently the president of the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was honored with the Family Building Award of the American Fertility Association in 2001. Dr. Braverman’s professional memberships include the American Psychological Association and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, where she has chaired many task forces and committees. She is the past chair of the Mental Health Professional Group. She is currently a member of the SART Validation Committee of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the Executive Organizing Committee and Working Committee of FertiQoL.

Andrea is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a speciality in assisted reproduction which includes mental health assessments and evaluation of egg donors and surrogates.

Andrea received undergraduate degrees in International Relations and French from the University of Southern California.  She continued her education at U.S.C. and received her Masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.

Andrea has more than 19 years of clinical experience working in the mental health fields.  Her early training began in the field of Geriatrics, where she established a geriatric case management program for the City of Beverly Hills.  She has also had extensive experience working in an inpatient psychiatric facility where she was able to strengthen her testing and diagnostic skills.

Andrea’s focus on assisted reproduction stemmed from her own personal experience with infertility over 14 years ago when she was beginning her family.  Since that time, Andrea has had three children, two with methods of assisted reproduction.  Her past and personal experience provides her with the knowledge to skillfully assess prospective egg donors and surrogates.  It also provides her with the compassion to provide support and guidance to individuals pursuing assisted reproduction.   She continues her professional growth in the field of infertility through research and involvement as a professional member of both the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American Fertility Association and Resolve.  Andrea was the past Psychological Chairperson on the board of directors for the Egg Donation and Surrogacy Professional Association.  She now serves on the advisory board of Parents Via Egg Donation.

Angela is a clinical social worker with more than 20 years experience helping people with relational issues, personal stressors, loss, communication working with individuals and couples.

She also has over 10 years of experience helping people to build and expand their families. This includes struggles for conception, miscarriage, donor egg, and donor egg recipients, as well as donor sperm and donor sperm recipients. Angela is also trained and certified to facilitate and score the MMPI-2 that is given to egg donors as part of the psychological exam.

Angela maintains a private practice in Swansea MA (Swansea Center for Psychotherapy and Joyful Breath Yoga) that also runs sessions of yoga therapy for infertility. Angela is a graduate of Roger Williams University, B.S. and Boston University School of Social Work, MSW.

Biography

Dr. Ariadna Cymet Lanski is a clinical psychologist who offers psychological services to meet the unique needs of individuals and couples coping with fertility challenges. She leads FCI's Women's Support Group, provides consultation during various stages of fertility treatment and conducts egg donor assessments.

Dr. Cymet Lanski's clinical practice specializes in reproductive health issues -from preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum adjustment to parenthood.  Dr. Cymet Lanski helps patients to manage stress and feel empowered about their choices. Dr. Cymet Lanski is a graduate of the Universidad De Las Mareicas (BA in Psychology) and Illinois School of Professional Psychology (M.A., Psy.D. in clinical psychology). She completed her doctoral internship at Illinois Masonic Behavioral Health, and received post-internship training at Swedish Covenant Hospital, and postdoctoral training at Chicago's Institute for Psychoanalysis.

Bob Bamman, LCSW, is a clinical social worker and a longstanding professional member of the American Fertility Association-Mental Health Group.  In that capacity he has helped develop the national phone coaching group program and has facilitated workshops and coaching groups addressing the emotional challenges of infertility, assisted/donor reproduction, and adoption.

Specialized clinical training includes infertility/adoption training at the Karen Horney Institute, the Center for Family Connections (Cambridge), and the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy.  A veteran of the infertility experience and an adoptive parent, Bob maintains a private practice located in mid-Manhattan working with couples, men, and women experiencing family building challenges.  Bob also provides adoption consultation services and New York State mandated pre-adoption Homestudy services.
