Biography
Andrea M. Braverman, PhD is Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Braverman is also the Director of Psychological and Complementary Services at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey and has a private practice in Philadelphia.

She matriculated both Masters and Doctorate degrees in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania in addition to a Masters in English literature, and completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a licensed psychologist practicing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Dr. Braverman is widely published in the peer-reviewed literature in infertility, and has presented papers, monographs, and lectures on infertility and reproductive medicine with a focus on psychological issues and counseling strategies. She serves on the editorial board of Archives of Women’s Mental Health. She reviews manuscripts for Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction. Dr Braverman also has contributed book chapters, reviews and editorials.
Dr. Braverman’s presentations have received national and international acclaim at scientific meetings. She has served as a lecturer at the Wharton School MBA Program, University of Pennsylvania and as chair for postgraduate courses at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in Montreal. Dr. Braverman has been an invited lecturer at ART meetings and conferences in the US, Australia, Canada, and Europe.
She is currently the president of the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was honored with the Family Building Award of the American Fertility Association in 2001. Dr. Braverman’s professional memberships include the American Psychological Association and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, where she has chaired many task forces and committees. She is the past chair of the Mental Health Professional Group. She is currently a member of the SART Validation Committee of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the Executive Organizing Committee and Working Committee of FertiQoL.
