Biography

Dr. Shapiro went to medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and it was during this training that Dr. Shapiro first became interested in reproductive medicine. Dr. Shapiro completed fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1995.

Biography

Dr. Daniel A. Potter graduated from the University of Southern California with both a B.S. in 1987 and M.D. in 1991. He completed his residency at LAC/USC Women’s Hospital in 1995 and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in 1997. Dr. Potter is Board Certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility and Obstetrics/Gynecology.

 In 1997 Dr. Potter began practicing in Orange County, California. His practice is devoted solely to helping couples conquer infertility and other reproductive problems. In addition to serving as Partner and Medical Director of HRC Fertility, Dr. Potter is also Medical Director of MicroSort West, the world’s second preconception gender determination laboratory, laboratory Director for Gene Security Network and Medical Director at California Stem Cell.

Dr. Potter actively conducts research and publishes scientific articles on various aspects of reproductive medicine and has presented his research throughout the United States and Europe.  His current research involves the development of microarray-based pre-implantation genetic diagnosis to improve IVF outcomes.  He has recently been sought out as an expert by several media outlets including the CBS Evening News and 48 Hours.  Dr. potter is also co-author of the popular book What To Do When You Can't Get Pregnant.

Distinguished professional organizations have also recognized Dr. Potter for his talent as a fertility specialist. Since 2005, he has been included in the Consumer Research Council of America’s list of Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in America. Dr. Potter’s honors also include the American Fertility Association Family Builder Award 2006; the Orange County Medical Association’s Physician of Excellence Award 2009; Top Doctor, Orange Coast Magazine 2010; Top Doctor, Los Angeles Magazine 2011 and Superdoctors.com 2011 Superdoctor Award.

At the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, we believe that we have a responsibility to be the voice of foster care adoption, so that every child finds a family. We exist to find homes for children who are waiting to be adopted from foster care in North America.
