Biography

Dr. Laurence A. Jacobs is a Mayo Clinic-trained Reproductive Endocrinologist and Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). He has been practicing medicine since 1975. He completed medical school and an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Northwestern University, and then went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Mayo Clinic in 1988. He has been honored as ‘Top Doctor’ by the prestigious publisher Castle Connolly in all of its editions of “America’s Top Doctors” from 2001-2014 and ‘Chicago’s Top Doctors’ from 2001-2014. Dr. Jacobs’ own experience as a former fertility patient allows him to empathize with his patients and provide the support and encouragement needed.

Biography

Lauryn was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University. She then went on to achieve a successful career in sales and marketing until she was diagnosed with primary infertility at the age of 35. With mid life worries, career burnout and the 3 year struggle to achieve a successful pregnancy she began searching for an alternate purpose for her life.

After much soul searching, she quit her job, started infertility treatments and enrolled in Nova Southeastern University in the Marriage and Family Therapy Master's Program and the Medical Family Therapy Certificate Program respectively. She graduated with her Master's in the summer of 2006 but during her stint in the program she took on a real passion for helping other women and couples who have or are struggling with infertility. This includes struggles for conception, miscarriage, donor egg and donor egg recipient patients, as well as donor sperm and donor sperm recipient patients. She works with relationships, communication and sexual issues surrounding infertility as well as the stress related to infertility medical protocol. She also works with transition to motherhood through live birth, adoption and high risk pregnancies as well as premature births and grief.

She is currently obtaining her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University and expanding her business where she strives to bridge the gap between therapeutic and medical worlds through education of patients, staff and doctors about the benefits of stress reduction around medical treatments to promote the best possible outcome.

Biography

Dr. Engmann graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School and received his MRCOG in 1995 from the United Kingdom. He then went on to complete a reproductive medicine fellowship in 1998 in the UK. Upon relocating to the U.S., Dr. Engmann completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UConn Health Center in 2003.

Dr. Engmann recently completed a three year REI fellowship at The UConn Health Center at The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services. Dr. Engmann is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI).  He is also a Clinical Research/Reproductive Endocrinology Scientist Scholar, National Institute of Health (2008-2009).
