Biography

Dr. Weckstein received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan having been accepted into the 6 year combined pre-medical/medical program. He completed his OB Gyn residency at the University of California, Irvine.  He went back to the University of California, Irvine in 1988 for training in infertility with one of the most successful IVF teams in the country at that time.

Dr. Weckstein is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology and the Society for Reproductive Surgeons. Dr. Weckstein has particular interest and experience in all aspects of IVF, including Egg Donation and fertility in older women. Lynn Bentley Davis, MD, MS returned to her hometown of Seattle in 2008 to be a part of the growing Seattle Reproductive Medicine team. In addition to her clinical and teaching experience, Dr. Davis brought a special interest in medical decision making and evidence-based treatment strategies, backed by her Master's degree in Health Research & Policy from Stanford University.

Dr. Davis has developed and now leads Seattle Reproductive Medicine's Fertility Preservation Program, a specialized approach to assisting women who need assisted reproductive technology to efficiently delay conception. In this capacity, Dr. Davis works with patients who are about to undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapies (for cancer or other health conditions) that may cause infertility. SRM is especially fortunate to have their Fertility Preservation Program spearheaded by Dr. Davis, whose expertise in health policy, decision analysis, and evaluation of new technology are crucial to the special patient groups served by this program. Her clinical specialties include in vitro fertilization (IVF), oncofertility (the fertility needs of patients with cancer), and oocyte vitrification, an egg preservation technique.

Dr. Davis's commitment to individualized, patient-centered care was evidenced early in her training, as she was named "Most Likely To Be a Good Doctor" by her fellow University of Colorado Medical School classmates. Later, she was awarded Outstanding Teacher of Obstetrics and Gynecology Award three years in a row by Harvard medical students during her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Harvard University's Brigham & Women's and Massachusetts General Hospitals. Dr. Davis also received the Robert Felix Award for Outstanding Performance in Psychiatry in 1999. In 2006, she was honored to receive the National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award.

Dr. Davis started her educational journey with a double-major in Biology and Psychology from the University of Virginia, followed by her MD from the University of Colorado, and OB/GYN residency from Harvard. She concluded her training with her REI Fellowship at Stanford University, where she also completed a postdoctoral Fellowship at the Stanford Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, and served as Clinical Instructor in the Department of OB/GYN.
