After giving birth to her own “miracle baby” through IVF, she turned to writing, focusing on the experiences of alternative families. Many described feeling overwhelmed and isolated as they faced the emotional, physical, financial and legal challenges of achieving parenthood.

Rachel’s research included interviews with dozens of fertility doctors, oncologists, urologists, adoption professionals, attorneys, surrogacy and donation agencies, psychotherapists and holistic practitioners. This knowledge was quickly put to use, as friends and relatives of the families she had profiled for The Lucky Ones began seeking her advice about forming their own families.

First, Rachel takes time to get to know each client, exploring their goals and dreams, their priorities, boundaries and budget. Then she thoroughly describes the pros and cons of each potential path to parenthood. Finally, she helps each client create a unique, comprehensive family plan, complete with referrals to top professionals. Offering in depth knowledge, compassionate support, and personalized solutions, Rachel helps families feel empowered and secure on the most important journey of their lives.
