Dr. Herbert is a fourth-generation physician who graduated from the University of Florida as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed both a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

In 1982 Dr. Herbert was instrumental in the development of one of the first assisted reproductive technology programs in the United States at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is an internationally recognized fertility specialist who has been performing in-vitro fertilization longer than any other physician in the Bay Area.
Dr. Di Girolamo earned her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Women and Infants’ Hospital in Providence, R.I. Dr. DiGirolamo is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed her fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Di Girolamo also earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in molecular pathology from MCP-Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has published extensively in the area of adult stem cell research and, more recently, has published on the mechanisms surrounding embryo implantation.
