Journalist Marie Colvin died doing what she loved best. She believed that she could make a difference in the world by uncovering the atrosities associated with our global state of unending war. In the words of her heart-broken mom, "She led an important life".
Without bitterness. She did not have time for bitterness, not even after she lost an eye, covering a different conflict in Sri Lanka.
She was a person of conscience who understood that there are many ways to live a life, many ways to live an important life.
So I have a request of you. Be great. Live an important life.
You may have children. You may not. But your choices for your life, no matter what comes your way, are yours to make. Choose greatness. Live an important life.
Rest in peace Marie. We need more like you.
