Michael Savage is a Schmuck
Now that we’ve established that I’m a New York liberal Jew, let’s talk about the other things that I am. I’m the mom of a 13 year old autistic boy, named Connor. I am also a woman who used, in Savage’s words, a “lesbian fertility clinic” to conceive him.
Michael Savage’s talk radio show, The Savage Nation, reaches 8 million people a week. I’m not one of them. I’d never heard of him until people started speaking to me about the schmuck on the radio who said that autism doesn’t exist, it’s just a form of brattiness and is often caused by an absentee father who isn’t there to show his son the back of his hand when he acts up. Great guy. This is the guy who brought you:
“God orchestrated the rise of radical Islam in order to counter the spiritual collapse of the West. The Churches are emptying out, the bathhouses are filling up, the sex change operations are speeding up, the lesbian fertility clinics are increasing around the country.”
And also:
“You boys in Hollywood and you girls in NYC – I (God) do exist through acts of catastrophe like the terrorist attacks of September 11th. Down came the World Trade Centers. That was God speaking.”
Plus the ever popular:
“I am worried about degenerates on the left who want to sell Americans on the idea that homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality, even sex with animals is normal”
And my own special favorite, directed face to face to a gay mom:
“You know what? I’m very sorry for your children. I think it’s child abuse for you to raise children. Marriage is a fragile institution and I think you’re making a mockery of it.”
Speaking for myself, I’m not outraged at this guy. This guy is an ineffectual schmuck. He’s a well educated idiot. To me the real question is, who is LISTENING to this guy and why? His radio show is as offensive as the title of my blog, but unlike these writings, vastly inaccurate. He’s like the guy who tries to convince you that the Holocaust never happened.
So why are people listening? Don’t we as a nation have better things to talk about? Like moving people forward? Ending a war? Creating a truly egalitarian open arms society? Does Michael Savage want to create concentration camps for bratty autistic kids and lesbians? It sure as hell sounds like it.
Listen folks, do us all a favor. Turn up the music and turn down the Michael Savages of the world. Don’t buy merchandise from the people who advertise on his radio show or on his website. Make a contribution to The AFA, or Autism Speaks, or your local LGBT Center instead. Consider moving us as a culture forward, not backwards.

Hi Corey - Marna here, from PVED, I am with you, not only is Michael Savage a schmuck he’s not even a very smart schmuck. Michael Savage is proof positive that even G*d has bad days.
Keep doing what you do—you are awesome, and ignore him, his kind come and go. They don’t call them shock jocks for nothing.
