ayodele	Thanks doctor. But i was told at the hospital that it is impossible for me to father a child biologically

cyn	my acupuncturist said that the herbs are going to help me during stimulation yet my RE told me not drink the herbs during stimulation. Now I am in a dilema. Can the herb have a negative affect on the stimulation process?

IN China, traditional and modern work together very very well. in short. there are many things that TCM can do, that allopathic medicine may not be able to do.

Dr_Daniel_Camburn__LAc	acu and IVF: you could have acu for only a month, or even a couple weeks before. that would help a bit. even having it just the day of transfer has been well estabilished to add 10% to success rates. however, like most things, the more you do it, and the longer, the more benefits can be gained. similar to exercise or a healthy diet.

Dr_Daniel_Camburn__LAc	"lazy" sperm: acupuncture, from a western perspective increases blood flow, for one; and decreases the amount and harmful effects of the adrenal stress reaction. etc. from our perspective, lazy sperm is most likely qi and/or yang def. we "tonify" the qi and/or yang and the problem is fixed. (usually)

durango	I just did an IVF today and I can attest to the fact that acupuncture has helped with lowering my fsh and enabling me to get pregnant. Q is I did a session before the transfer today, how soon is it necessary before I do another acup. session? I may not be able to go for several days.

cyn	Are there risks of birth defects or can there be a lower success rate if you have to do ISCI (I think that is spelled right). My husband has high morphology and he is now doing acupuncture.

Lisa_Rosenthal	cyn, there are some preliminary reports that are somewhat troublesome about ICSI. Not enough to stop using it, but it is being looked at more carefully.

durango	Heidi - if you have the money and your really want a kid, I highly suggest IVF. I am 44 and wish I had acted on it a few years ago. It is not a big deal going thru IVF.

Dr_Daniel_Camburn__LAc	acu in the first trimester: good for everyone. may not be enough to prevent miscarriage. herbs are stronger. and to answer the question that this will generate, no, of course they don't cause birth defects, in fact they can do much to prevent them.

Dr_Daniel_Camburn__LAc	ayodele: a problem in the production line. more then that is for a specialist, and we don't really need to know to fix it. we only need know your "pattern" of disease, and we can fix it. TCM existed long before modern diagnostics. we are operating on a different level.

cyn	You can find the best info regarding referrals through and organization called Resolve at Resolve.org. It is a nationwide support group and the monthly meetings are gREAT for getting all types of information. I got my referral from women who had successful IVF cycles using acupunture!!
