Hi,. I am new to TTC and all involved, please be patient with me.
My cycle had become somewhat irregular after a cone biopsy, although my cycle was never that way before. While working with my fertility dr. he thoroughly explained how to chart BBT and when to take the prescribed oral clomid at the low dosage (I did the 1st clomid already but then some problems began). My cycle was very irregular after taking the 1st clomid, and uderstandably dr wanted to have the bleeding issues under control so when the time came for the meds again it would be somewhat smoother of a process. I’m confused about all that my body is going through.
My cycles previously had been approximately every 21-28 days, but post cone biopsy had become every 2 weeks sometimes with lingering pink spotting. I’d taken a round of Necon (3 times per day for 7 days then the placebos for 7 days, then begin normal 1xdaily of the birth control Necn)to stop the bleeding and regulate my cycle, he instructed me to take this b.c. for 3 months, but am concerned that I’m bleeding every 2 weeks. Is there a reason for concern or should I just wait it out?
Thank you.

Dear BlackEyedBeauty:
I would recommend a full evaluation with a board certified reproductive endocrinologist.  A cone biopsy should not cause irregular periods.  Also clomid is often not very beneficial for women with cycles on the short side.  It tends to work best in young women, with longer cycles, PCOS, and or large numbers of antral follicles.
It does sound like you could use further evaluation.
For right now, until you find a specialist, you should have a blood pregnancy test done if it has not already been done.
If you are in northern NJ, please consider visiting us at IRMS at Saint Barnabas - http://www.sbivf.com.
Very best of luck to you.
