My husband and I are a little concerned. I had a D&C in early January following a miscarriage. Since then, my cycles have been odd. The first period I had was pretty short, only 2-4 days (which I wasn’t complaining about!). But the second period came only 3 weeks after the start of my first period, and lasted about 12-14 days. Granted, it wasn’t heavy for that whole time, but enough. After only a week of “peace” my cycle started back up again a couple days ago. I’m not having my normal PMS symptoms of a headache or tenderness. It just doesn’t feel normal. Prior to the pregnancy, my cycles were around 30-35 days, so 21-23 days is quite a change for me.
I called my ob/gyn during the longer period and she said if it happened again this time, she would do some bloodwork and make sure everything was alright. But I’m still a little concerned…especially since the flow isn’t normal either - there’s more brown than red. I expected that during the first cycle following the D&C, but during the second and third? If any docs have any advice, please let me know, I would appreciate it. I’m awaiting another callback from my local doctor as well, but wanted to get a couple of opinions. I would love to hear that these are all normal experiences following a miscarriage and D&C.
