Honda Continues to Discriminate
Last week The American Fertility Association took a stance against Honda Manufacturing of Alabama for excluding same sex couples from ART coverage in its Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plan description. Feel free the read the press release and establish your own opinion. We’ve made several attempts to contact Honda in search of an explanation, but to no avail. Honda has, however, released a statement to the media indicating that insurance coverage is the same for both same-sex and opposite sex couples; a statement which completely contradicts the documented proof of discrimination which The AFA has obtained.
Additionally, the American Family Association has issued an ‘Action Alert,’ urging its members to send letters of support to Honda for denying such treatment to its lesbian employees. We have not quite figured out exactly why The American Family Association has involved itself in this issue, considering Honda insists it provides fair coverage to all. We can only assume The American Family Association, a religious political extremist group, also recognizes that Honda is lying to the media. Regardless, the group supports discrimination against same-sex couples.
Please take a moment to contact Honda Manufacturing of Alabama to voice your concern!
In order to continue fighting for patient rights like these, The American Fertility Association needs your help. Please take a moment and click here to make a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to contact Brian Armentrout for further information on this issue, including a copy of the insurance plan description.
