Why are we having this conference?
Fertility challenges can be a very overwhelming experience. It can bring feelings of anxiety especially when a woman decides to seek fertility treatment. Infertility in minority women can be even harder. There is a myth that women of color do not have fertility problems. Currently, there is very little information available that talks about minorities and infertility.
We believe there are many possible reasons that can explain this. Obstacles may include cultural beliefs, religious practices, psychological and social factors, financial barriers, as well as not knowing what options are available or how to go about looking for care. To really understand what the obstacles are and how to tackle them we need to talk about them.
Who should attend?
Anyone (women, men, couples) who wants to learn about and discuss fertility topics, and options for fertility information and treatment.
What to expect from the conference:
The People of Color Fertility Conference will have a number of infertility and reproductive professionals to provide facts and options while dismissing myths, as well as information and literature about their own reproductive programs.

- Dr. Claudia Pascal Clinical Psychologist
